Privacy Notice
The short version: AI for Arts and Culture collects as little personal information as practical. Normal visits produce limited hosting and aggregate analytics data. If you subscribe, we store your email address and subscription history. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising or automated decision-making.
Who is responsible
AI for Arts and Culture is operated by Matters.work, LLC, which is responsible for the personal information described here.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to kristin@matters.work.
When you visit
This website is hosted by Vercel. Like other hosting providers, Vercel processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include your IP address, requested page, browser or device information, timestamps, and approximate location.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages people visit, how they find the site, and how the site performs. It does not use analytics cookies or track a person across different websites or days. Vercel creates a daily visitor identifier that expires after 24 hours; aggregate analytics are available to us for the service's reporting period, currently 12 months. See Vercel's analytics documentation.
Where European privacy law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the website. We do not place advertising trackers or send email addresses or newsletter form values to analytics.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store:
- Your email address
- Whether you are subscribed or unsubscribed
- When you subscribed, resubscribed, or unsubscribed
- Where the request was made
- The version of the privacy notice presented at the time
We use this information to send the AI for Arts and Culture newsletter and manage your preferences. We do not store your IP address or browser information in newsletter records.
Newsletter records are stored with Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany. Active records are kept while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing and keep only your email address and the limited subscription history needed to document and honor your choice. That suppression record is retained while necessary to prevent future messages and meet legal obligations. It is not used for marketing.
You can withdraw your consent at any time through the unsubscribe option or by emailing us. Opt-outs are honored promptly and within the time required by applicable law. See the FTC's CAN-SPAM guidance.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include in your message. We use it to respond, discuss possible work, maintain a business relationship, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.
The website also links to services such as Calendly for scheduling. Those are external websites, and their privacy notices govern information you provide there.
Videos and external services
Some pages may include videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. Loading or playing an embedded video may allow Google/YouTube to receive technical and usage information. Privacy-enhanced mode limits personalization but does not make the player data-free. See YouTube's privacy-enhanced-mode documentation.
Other external links are governed by the privacy practices of the sites you choose to visit.
Service providers and international processing
Relevant providers include Vercel for hosting and analytics, Supabase for newsletter records, and Google/YouTube for embedded media. These companies may use subprocessors or process information in the United States and other countries.
Where required, providers use recognized transfer safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. See the Vercel Data Processing Addendum and Supabase Data Processing Addendum.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live.
To make a request, email kristin@matters.work. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
This site does not use personal information to make automated decisions about visitors. Visitor information is not sent to a generative-AI model.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We will update this notice when our practices or providers materially change and revise the date below.
